Past Programs

 

Image Maker Films has presented independent films and moderated discussions in partnership with libraries, universities, museums, advocacy organizations, and community groups throughout New York and beyond. These programs have explored themes including human rights, immigration, Holocaust remembrance, LGBTQ+ inclusion, racial justice, religious diversity, and cross-cultural understanding.

 

Past partners include the Nassau County Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center, Queens Public Library, New York Public Library, Brooklyn Public Library, Yale University, the University of California, San Francisco, Bryant Library, Brooklyn Community Pride Center, APICHA Community Health Center, the Asian Pacific Statewide Alliance, the Asian American/Asian Research Institute (AAARI), DRUM, Queer Muslims of New York, the City College of New York LGBTQ Center, and numerous other educational and community organizations.

 

 

 

Image Maker Films has organized recurring screenwriting workshops and creative development sessions for emerging filmmakers and storytellers. Through virtual and in-person instruction, participants have learned the fundamentals of screenplay structure, character development, visual storytelling, and independent filmmaking while building creative confidence and professional networks.

 

 

 

Image Maker Films provides opportunities for filmmakers, actors, writers, designers, and other creative professionals—particularly those from historically underrepresented communities—to collaborate on socially engaged artistic projects. Our productions prioritize inclusive hiring practices while fostering meaningful mentorship and creative exchange.

 

 

 

Image Maker Films has documented cultural programs, public discussions, educational events, and community initiatives that promote diversity, equity, human rights, and civic engagement. Through photography and visual storytelling, we help preserve and amplify important conversations taking place across New York City’s diverse communities.
